Environmentally sound production
Unlike rolled membranes, such as ones used in reverse-osmosis devices, hollow-fiber membranes are made out of pure polyethylene without the use of solvents.
Made of pure polyethylene – one of the most inert materials known – hollow-fiber membranes have a long service life and can hold up well under unfavorable conditions.
A huge filtering surface in a small volume of space
The effective surface area of the membrane used in Sawyer filters is 7,500 cm2 – over 8 sq. ft.
Large absorbent capacity
A hollow-fiber membrane is capable of filtering a considerably larger amount of “dirt” (large-particle impurities) than bulk filters such as polypropylene cartridges or carbon blocks.
Introducing the Sawyer Tap Filter, a new addition to Sawyer’s line of high-performance water filtration systems.
The Sawyer Tap Filter removes biological contaminants, guaranteeing immediate clean drinking water when you need it most. Great to use when traveling, during boil alerts, or in emergencies when safe drinking water is compromised, the Tap Filter is easy-to-use and will filter to up to 500 gallons of clean drinking water per day.
It’s the ideal component for use during natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, fires, and earthquakes. Hitting the road? Consider the Tap Filter your pocket-sized peace of mind for all questionable sources –– campgrounds, festivals, events, in RVs, and when traveling internationally.
